East Midlands Airport 2024 to 2028 Noise Action Plan Consultation

You may have heard that East Midlands Airport (EMA) is consulting on their Noise Action Plan 2024 – 2028. This will replace the current 2019 to 2024 and explains how EMA will manage noise from the airport to minimise its impact on local communities – the consultation is your way to have a say on what goes into the plan.

This is an important document and SAVE will be commenting, but it is important that as many individual residents as possible also make comments. We hear most complaints about noise from training flights which overfly the villages from night time cargo flights which we can expect to increase massively as plans for the Freeport progress.

You can find more information on the consultation process at:
https://www.eastmidlandsairport.com/community/local-environmental-impacts/noise/noise-action-plan/.

There is also a very informational video below:

The closing date for the consultation is 31st July 2023.

You can also find more information on noisy flights using the EMA Webtrak monitoring system. This shows information on all flights to and from the airport and includes noises levels at the Weston noise monitoring site: https://www.eastmidlandsairport.com/community/local-environmental-impacts/noise/webtrak/

EMA continues to be a pretty good neighbour in terms of monitoring noise complaints from surrounding communities. Anyone who is interested can find information including the complaints process at
